Ryan Mayberry
Ryan Mayberry was admitted to the California Bar in 2004 and joined the Law Offices of Todd Rothbard in 2005. Since then, he has successfully tried hundreds of unlawful detainer cases, including both bench and jury trials. His extensive experience spans lease violations, nuisance and criminal activity, affordable housing programs, mobile home and marina cases, and matters involving the Ellis Act, rent control, and just cause eviction ordinances.
Mr. Mayberry has been recognized for his excellence in the field, having been named in Super Lawyers' magazine for eleven consecutive years and honored as a “Best Attorney in San Jose” by LegalForce Media Publications. He frequently speaks at seminars and leads discussions for property managers on residential, commercial, and affordable housing evictions.
A proud alumnus of the University of California at Santa Barbara and the University of San Francisco School of Law, Mr. Mayberry has also served as both associate justice and chief justice in his alma mater’s First-Year Moot Court and Advocate of the Year competitions.
Brian Skarbek
Mr. Skarbek has successfully litigated thousands of unlawful detainer cases and brings deep expertise in eviction law, including the specific substantive and procedural rules of Santa Clara County. He is an expert in the interpretation of local Just Cause ordinances and the Tenant Protection Act.
Outside the courtroom, Mr. Skarbek enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, including coaching softball and attending musicals and dance recitals.
Steve Naumchik
Steve Naumchik was admitted to the California Bar in 2000. He began his legal career in the Public Defender’s Office, where he tried approximately 24 jury trials before joining the Law Offices of Todd Rothbard in 2003. Since then, Mr. Naumchik has handled thousands of unlawful detainer cases for both residential and commercial landlords, addressing a wide range of issues including nonpayment of rent, nuisance, and illegal conduct.
With extensive litigation experience, Mr. Naumchik actively engages in law and motion work, settlement negotiations, and both bench and jury trials. He is an expert in the specific procedural and legal requirements of unlawful detainers in San Mateo and Contra Costa Counties.
Mr. Naumchik is a frequent speaker at landlord/tenant law seminars. He earned his undergraduate degree from San Jose State and graduated with distinction from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific. While at McGeorge, he served on the Law Review and published two articles in the Review of Selected California Legislation.
Christina Dabis
Christina Dabis was admitted to the California Bar in 2004 and has since dedicated her practice to real estate and landlord-tenant law across Northern California, with a particular focus on the cities of Berkeley and Oakland. She is also an expert in the various requirements to terminate HUD, Section 8, tax credit, and other affordable housing tenants for nuisance conduct, criminal conduct, and violations of lease.
She brings extensive experience in litigation, mediation, and trial work and has presented seminars and authored educational materials for property owners and managers on topics such as Oakland’s Measure EE and the San Francisco Rent Ordinance. Ms. Dabis is a graduate of San Francisco State University and earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law.
Christopher Cooper
Christopher Cooper was admitted to the California State Bar in 2022. He earned his J.D. with distinction from Lincoln Law School of San Jose, where he served as a class representative on the Student Bar Association. He also graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona.
Since joining the Law Offices of Todd Rothbard in 2022, he has successfully tried numerous cases and has been actively involved in law and motion practice, as well as settlement negotiations. He specializes in the legal requirements and procedural hurdles that landlords face when attempting to recover properties in San Francisco.
Outside the courtroom, Mr. Cooper enjoys spending time with his wife and their young daughter, and is an avid basketball fan and player.
Todd Rothbard, of Counsel
Todd Rothbard has been a member of the California Bar since 1975 and has dedicated his entire legal career to landlord-tenant law. Over the decades, he has handled hundreds of thousands of unlawful detainer actions for both residential and commercial property owners, earning his reputation as Northern California's foremost authority on eviction matters. Although he has taken a step back from day to day involvement in the practice, he continues to advise clients and assist the firm on complex or difficult matters.
He holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Santa Clara University School of Law.
Michael “Mike” Campbell, Sr.
Michael “Mike” Campbell, Sr. is an Associate Attorney at Rothbard Law Group, where he focuses on landlord-tenant law and real estate litigation. He brings more than 25 years of combined experience in law, real estate, and insurance to his practice, offering clients a practical, solutions-oriented approach backed by deep industry insight.
Before joining Rothbard Law Group full-time in April 2025, Mike served as a contract attorney with the Law Office of Todd Rothbard, gaining hands-on experience representing clients in a wide range of landlord-tenant disputes. His transition into full-time legal practice followed a long and successful career as a licensed California real estate broker and insurance broker, during which he guided clients through complex transactions and risk management decisions.
Mike earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2015 and is admitted to practice law in the State of California. His multidisciplinary background allows him to anticipate client needs and advocate effectively in matters where legal, financial, and regulatory considerations intersect.
Outside the office, Mike enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and creating meaningful memories with friends.
